BEAM+

Seasons In Solitude

Seasons in Solitude is a BEAM+ short film that explores the emotions experienced through isolation in the path of self-love. A roller coaster of happiness, fear, denial, anger, depression, bargaining, and acceptance. Each short piece you experience in this show is movement and words created by each individual artist. Through weekly classes and guest artist experiences, BEAM+ participants and collaborators have expanded their artistry and built community.

The Wayfaring Band

BEAM+ Guest Company

The Wayfaring Band is an adventure where everyone belongs! Although we like to rock, we are not a rock-n-roll or musical band. We are a wayfaring band, which means we are a group of people who travel together. We offer adventure travel and immersive learning opportunities for adults with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. We offer both in-person and virtual programs.

We reject the assumption that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are limited in their capacity to enjoy the full human experience. We are creating a world where everybody matters, differences enrich, and opportunities are boundless. Our dream is to model our vision of inclusion everywhere we travel, fundamentally altering the way people experience difference. #EverybodyIn!

In the past, I worked ten years as a Reading Assistant, Special Education paraprofessional, and a certified Invasive Procedure Paraprofessional with The Denver Public Schools. My evening job was part-time at The Home Depot for ten years as a Garden Associate, Cashier, Sign Maker, and Kids Clinic Captain. I've also been a caregiver for individuals of all ages and at this point in our lives, I have been experimenting with my art and painting more. I'd like to develop my talents into a successful career. In the meantime, I value my time and the people I allow to flourish in love and respect. I try to make everyone around me feel loved and important. We are all not promised time here on earth. We must make the best of our time, our children, our earth, and our worth. It's a symbiotic relationship we must all see in order to lives in harmony.

Tofer Breüer

BEAM+ Guest Artist and Certified Deaf Interpreter

Hello, My name is Tofer Breuer and I am the bridge between the hearing and Deaf communities. Deaf from birth, with Cerebral Palsy, and Trans-Male identified, I have had to navigate a world which is profoundly unfriendly to anyone who is different. I am the embodiment of different. In the early 2000’s I performed with QUEST, a Deaf performance group in Washington DC, while attending Gallaudet University, the only Deaf Liberal Arts university in the United States. I have been an interpreter for many choirs. Most notably; Denver Women’s Chorus, Harmony Chorale and Phoenix Trans Choir. Most recently I have been involved with and the sole interpreter for, Judaism Your Way. A Jewish organization who is dedicated to bringing Jewish learning and celebration to all.

I am a Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI). This type of interpreter brings a very specific skill to an interpreting relationship. When there is a communication breakdown between a Deaf person and a hearing interpreter a CDI is brought in to facilitate better understanding on both sides utilizing a cultural perspective. I am one of a handful of CDI’s in the nation.

Tofer is available for free-lance interpreting at:

To this day, I still insist on doing everything my way and on my timing. I have Down Syndrome as well as Autism and I am non-verbal. I am strengthening my American Sign Language skills for me to succeed in communicating and relationship building. I've always loved music and can escape my daily challenges by dancing and smiling in abundance.  Music moves My soul! Dancing just came naturally as I am drawn to music. I enjoyed ten years of Be Beautiful Be Yourself dance program with The Global Down Syndrome Foundation. I learned so much more than ballet moves and poses. I gained lifelong friendships and confidence each semester, and learned how to stand in front of a crowd and be confident. I learned patience and routines as each class showcased their talents. So when I aged out of ballet classes, it felt natural to try another form of dance and Community. My family and I have been blessed with Bridget, Miah, and Alex forming BEAM+You class. We look forward to new opportunities and gatherings with our BEAM+ family.
